PhD Colloquium: Gender Challenges to Climate Change Adaption and Food Security: Evidence from Nepal

The Department of Development and Sustainability (DDS) organized a Ph.D. colloquium for Ph.D. students on 24 June 2020 as a monthly regular event of the Department. Before the presentation started, Mrs. Wachira Petcho, a Ph.D. candidate as a moderator shared that DDS had already conducted 21 sessions of Ph.D. Colloquium so far since it was started august 2017 as monthly basis. The main objectives of the colloquium to interact with the Ph.D. students under DDS to share their research, findings, experience, challenges, solutions.

PhD Colloquium: Process of Coordination and Negotiation between Villagers and Public Agencies over Natural Resource Management in China: Insights from Xishuangbanna Prefecture

Scholarship in Gender and Development Studies for Japanese Nationals

Scholarship available for Japanese national for masterโ€™s degree in Gender and Development Studies at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.

Two-years MSc. tuition is covered by scholarship.
The student will pay the following: Airfare, visa fees, insurance, student union fees, living expenses, registration fee of 20,000 Baht per semester (4 semesters).

The classes will start in August 2020.

Congratulations to Ms. May Sabe Phyu winner of the 2019 N-Peace Awards

May Sabe Phyu has had a dynamic career advocating for womenโ€™s full realization of their human rights. Currently serving as Director of the Gender Equality Network, her work utilizes intersectional approaches and engages multi-sectoral stakeholders as partners in achieving gender equality. She uses various platforms to build on the gains of women in Myanmar, and continuously identifies and works to address laws, policies, as well as cultural and social norms that work against the achievement of full gender equality.
