The 7th Global Conference on Gender in Aquaculture and Fisheries (GAF7) was held at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand in October 2018. It has been agreed that part of the proceeds from GAF7 be converted to fellowship to support students study gender in aquaculture/ fisheries.
We would like to congratulate Ms. Nant May Than Htay from Myanmar, and Ms. Sujata Timelsina from Nepal to be awarded the fellowship.(more…)
In August 2019, three DDS students completed their PhD. Congratulations! We are very proud to have Shahab-E-Saqib, Supattra Yamsrual and Manjunatha Venkatappa as new PhD holders who will be leaders in their own respective fields. A team of three students from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has won the 2019 International Day of Forests (2019 IDF) organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on 21 March 2019.
The AIT team of Sarathanjali Manoharan, Pimolporn Jintarith, and Megha Bajaj, who debated on the topic “Providing the youth with an equal opportunities to study forestry will help reduce inequality issues in the world,” emerged as winners at the event, which was co-organized by the FAO, the Center for People and Forests (RECOFTC), and United Nations Environment.(more…)
DDS would like to congratulation Professor Jayant Kumar Routray for being promoted from the bestowal of the title Emeritus Professor.
The title Emeritus Professor is conferred on AIT full Professors on retirement after continuous distinguished service. The award of the title will be conferred to those who have achieved outstanding international professional status and have made significant academic contributions to the Institute through teaching, publications and professional work.
