Congratulations to GDS Alumni Kuntala Chowdhury on being awarded in the "Iconic Leader Category" on the eve of International Women’s Day

We congratulate Kuntala Chowdhury for being awarded as Emerging Women on Iconic Leader Category on the eve of International Women’s Day for her outstanding contribution to engaging young students especially women to redress gender inequality. After completing her studies in Gender & Development Studies at AIT, she went back to her country and actively worked on her research topic as a researcher and activist and contributed to creating a positive impact on the community people.

She is working with several voluntary organizations like Begum Rokeya University Debating Society, and Save Youth where she is promoting social issues to address climate, agriculture, and gender-based violence in online and offline platforms as an academician. Considering the intersectional identity of people, she is keeping her focus on uplifting the status of marginalized women.

The organizers of Emerging Women Award, 2024 analyzed the profiles of applicants for this award by their respected jury members. After scrutinizing their profiles, this award was given to 22 women for their praiseworthy contribution to different sectors in Bangladesh at the Chittagong club on 9th March 2024 by the voluntary organization Fashion for Life. We are proud to say that our alumni Kuntala Chowdhury is one of them.

Congratulations to Kuntala and all the winners! We wish you more success.
