CRISTA Team conducts Stakeholder Meeting in Neelkantha Municipality, Nepal
Stakeholder Meeting for the Climate Resilient Infrastructure for Social Transformation and Adaptation (CRISTA) project was successfully conducted in Neelkantha Municipality, Nepal on 11th July 2022. The meeting was organized to discuss the ongoing progress of CRISTA project and provide hands-on demonstration on the use of CRISTA system, application, and dashboard to the concerned local authorities.
During the meeting, Mr.Ganesh Dhungana, DPMM Research Scholar shared about the CRISTA system, and demonstrated the features and use of mobile application and dashboard for near real time monitoring and risk assessment of critical infrastructure.
Dr. Indrajit Pal, Associate Professor, AIT and Team Leader expressed gratitude for the municipality’s support in developing the CRISTA system and emphasized on the efficient use of spatial and digital technologies to enhance disaster risk governance through social participation, in line with national and local disaster risk management strategies of Nepal.
Mr. Bhim Prasad Dhungana, Mayor of Neelkantha Municipality appreciated the efforts of Asian Institute of Technology and Action Nepal to support and assist the municipality through the project and acknowledged the system’s practicality and contribution in enhancing the municipality’s disaster risk mitigation and management actions.
Climate Resilient Infrastructure for Social Transformation and Adaptation (CRISTA) project led by Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in collaboration with Action Nepal, FEED Pvt Ltd and Science Connect Ltd. has developed a system for near-real time monitoring and risk assessment of critical infrastructures such as roads and power. The project is being implemented in Neelkantha Municipality, Nepal and Monohardi Upazilla, Bangladesh under the ADPC’s Climate Innovation Challenge (CIC), funded by FDCO-UKAID and The World Bank.
