Visit of Diponegoro University Delegation to AIT – April 22, 2025

On April 22, 2025, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) had the honor of
welcoming a 24-member delegation from Diponegoro University, Indonesia. The delegation, comprising 20 Master’s students and 4 faculty members from the Urban and Regional Planning Program, was led by Dr. Wido Prananing Tyas, Head of the Master’s Program in Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Engineering.

Prof. Mokbul Morshed Ahmad, Head of the Department of Development and Sustainability (DDS), extended a warm welcome to the visitors and provided an overview of AIT, the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), and the DDS Department. In addition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Malay Pramanik, a distinguished faculty member, presented insights into his ongoing research projects, which sparked significant interest among the students.

The visiting student group consisted of participants from the Urban and Regional Planning Studio classes, focusing on the theme of food security and planning—an area of strategic importance for the Indonesian national development agenda. One of the student representatives delivered an impressive presentation on the project titled “Food Security Development in the Semarang Metropolitan Area,” which reflected innovative ideas and a strong alignment with national priorities.
