Student Spotlight – Renz Prudenciado 

Renz, a doctoral candidate in Gender and Development Studies (AIT_GDS ) academic program at the Department of Development and Sustainability, AIT at #AITserd , has published her research in the International Journal of Transgender Health—a Q1-ranked journal with an Impact Factor of 14.8.

 Title: The Women in Their Lovers’ Eyes: Counter-Narratives of Gender Recognition in Trans-Cis Relationships in the Philippines – A Post-Qualitative Inquiry

Drawing from her award-winning master’s thesis (supported by DAAD Germany), Renz explores the lived experiences of transgender women and their cisgender male partners in the Philippines—stories that challenge societal norms, highlight love and respect beyond labels, and call for greater legal recognition and inclusion.

Her achievement not only advances inclusive scholarship but also inspires fellow students to pursue research with purpose and courage.
